Public Sector People have partnered with a Regional NSW council to recruit for a Chief Financial Officer, to cover a 6-month period. 

The CFO will lead the finance function and provide strategic oversight across all financial and management accounting activities. You’ll play a pivotal role in long-term financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and investment strategy, ensuring Council remains financially sustainable and compliant.

Must haves:

• Local government experience is essential for this role.
• Qualified Accountant with at least 5 years’ experience in a senior finance leadership role
• Strong knowledge of financial management practices, accounting standards, and reporting frameworks
• Proven experience leading multi-functional finance teams
• Experience in long-term financial planning and financial modelling

It is the preference of the Council that the role is based on-site and accommodation can be provided.
