We are seeking an experienced Information Management Officer for an immediate start, joining a supportive local council in the south-west on a 3-month contract until 17 April. This role offers hybrid working and will suit someone who can hit the ground running in a busy local government environment.

About the role Reporting to the Information Services team, you will provide high-quality, customer-focused records and information management support across Council. You will play a key role in ensuring records and information are managed in line with legislative, policy and industry requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing inward and outward mail (physical and electronic)
  • Scanning, classifying, registering and distributing records in line with business rules
  • Records capture, archiving, retrieval and disposal
  • Providing guidance to staff on records management practices and use of the EDRMS
  • Ensuring compliance with privacy, data protection and legislative obligations
  • General administrative and information management support as required
About you You will bring demonstrated information and records management experience, ideally within a local government or public sector setting, and be confident working with electronic document and records management systems.
You will have:
  • Proven experience in records and information management (essential)
  • Knowledge of records management principles, retention and disposal authorities
  • Understanding of privacy and data protection requirements
  • Strong data entry skills and attention to detail
  • Experience using EDRMS (Objective ECM highly regarded)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Relevant qualification in records/information management, or equivalent experience
