Public Sector People are proud to partner with Blacktown City Council to appoint an experienced Human Resource Business Partner. This role plays a key part in delivering proactive HR and employee relations support across a broad range of workforce matters.
Working closely with leaders across the organisation, you will provide expert advice across recruitment, performance management, organisational design, and workforce planning. You will also lead workplace investigations and manage grievance processes with fairness and integrity, while contributing to a positive and high-performing workplace culture.
About the Role Reporting to the Senior Coordinator Human Resources, you will be responsible for:
- Provide professional HR and IR advice to managers across a broad range of employee matters including recruitment, performance management and disciplinary processes
- Lead workplace investigations, grievance resolution processes, employee relations matters and industrial disputes
- Develop, review and implement HR policies, procedures and programs
- Support the delivery of Council’s Workforce Management Plan and employee development initiatives
- Facilitate HR programs and induction sessions across the organisation
- Monitor legislative and industry developments to ensure contemporary and compliant HR practices
- Contribute to continuous improvement across HR systems, processes and documentation
What You’ll Bring - Diploma qualification or above in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business, Psychology, Law or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience delivering HR and employee relations support
- Strong understanding of employment legislation, HR practices and industrial relations frameworks
- Experience supporting managers with employee performance, disciplinary and workplace matters
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
- Highly developed organisational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail
