Public Sector People (PSP) have partnered with a council in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne to recruit a HR Business Partner for a 7-week temporary contract.

Duration: 
ASAP start - 7th June 2025 
Location: 
Eastern suburbs 
Rate: 
$73 per hour plus super 

HR Business Partner - Customer and Transformation directorate 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Build effective relationships with the relevant director/s and department managers within the Customer and Transformation directorate.
  • Translate business requirements into effective people solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Provide timely and professional HR advice on workforce planning, recruitment, retention, and performance management.
  • Partner with the Organisational Development and Change team to guide workforce planning and change management.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of organisation-wide and targeted business solutions.
  • Manage complex and sensitive employee relations cases, providing expert support to leaders and employees.
  • Guide the implementation of Return-to-Work plans, ensuring compliance and employee well-being.
Criteria: 
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Management, or Behavioural Science.
  • Proven HR experience in a business partnering role, supporting the full employee lifecycle.
  • Strong knowledge of workplace legislation and experience providing HR advice in complex organisations.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and work effectively across all levels of the organisation.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented approach, sharing knowledge to build capability.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a strategic and business-focused mindset.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to plan, prioritise, and manage multiple tasks.
