The Opportunity
Inner West Council is seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join its Mechanical Services team in St Peters.

Working within Council's fleet workshop, you'll play an important role in keeping its diverse fleet of vehicles, trucks and plant equipment safe, reliable and operational. This is a hands-on opportunity for a qualified Mechanic with strong diagnostic and repair skills.

What's on Offer?

$54.43 per hour + super
Monday – Friday, 6:30am – 2:00pm
Temporary assignment until 30 June 2027

Key Requirements

Recognised automotive mechanical trade qualification.
Current NSW Motor Vehicle Tradesperson Certificate in the relevant class of repair work.
Current NSW HR driver's licence.
Demonstrated post-trade experience inspecting, diagnosing, servicing and repairing vehicles, plant and equipment.
Ability to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic faults.

Desirable Experience

Heavy commercial vehicles and trucks.
Waste collection vehicles.
Mobile plant and equipment.
Local government or mixed-fleet workshop environments.
