A local council in the Goldfields region of Central Victoria is seeking an experienced
Health, Safety & Wellbeing Coordinator
on a
contract basis
to lead the development and implementation of workplace health, safety, and wellbeing strategies. This is a hands-on role where you’ll make a tangible difference to staff and contractor wellbeing and safety culture.
About the Role You will:
- Lead and coordinate HSW policies, programs, and systems to ensure compliance and promote a safe, healthy workplace.
- Provide expert advice and support to managers, staff, contractors, and volunteers on HSW matters.
- Manage incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and monitor HSW performance metrics.
- Coach and support managers to strengthen HSW leadership and accountability.
- Maintain compliance with legislative requirements including OHS Act 2004 (Vic), WorkSafe, and WorkCover obligations.
What We’re Looking For - Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar HSW role with an occupationally diverse workforce.
- Formal qualification in Occupational Health & Safety.
- Knowledge of best practice HSW systems, safety culture initiatives, and legislative requirements.
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and consult effectively.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Experience with safety management systems and HSW data analysis.
