A Western metropolitan local council is seeking an experienced
Health, Safety & Wellbeing Business Partner
to join their People & Culture function on an initial
3-month contract, commencing immediately.
This role will partner closely with leaders and frontline teams within an outdoor workforce, supporting the delivery of proactive health, safety, wellbeing and injury management initiatives across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted business partner to leaders and employees, embedding a strong safety and wellbeing culture
- Provide specialist advice across OHS, WorkCover, injury management and return-to-work
- Coordinate return-to-work programs and manage complex WorkCover matters
- Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, inspections and incident investigations
- Support compliance with OHS legislation, Council policies and child safety obligations
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aligned with organisational priorities
- Deliver coaching and guidance to leaders on safety, wellbeing and injury management responsibilities
About You
- Proven experience in a Health, Safety & Wellbeing or Injury Management Business Partner role
- Strong working knowledge of OHS legislation, WorkCover and return-to-work frameworks
- Confident engaging with leaders and operational teams, including outdoor workforces
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Relevant qualification in OHS, Injury Management, Allied Health or similar (or significant equivalent experience)
- Return-to-Work Coordinator certification highly regarded
