About the Role

Reporting to the Manager Property and Assets, the Head of Asset Management will lead Council’s strategic asset management function, providing direction across lifecycle planning, asset strategy, renewal planning, governance, asset information and organisational capability.
This is far more than a technical asset management role. Council is seeking a strategic, commercially astute and people-focused leader who can influence organisational decision-making and embed contemporary asset management practices across the organisation.
Leading a multidisciplinary team, you will strengthen Council’s asset management capability, guide long-term investment decisions and ensure the organisation continues to maximise value from its infrastructure portfolio.
Working closely with senior leaders, Councillors and key internal and external stakeholders, you will provide trusted advice, navigate competing priorities and build strong partnerships that support long-term community outcomes.
You will also drive improvements across systems, processes and ways of working, while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

About You

You are an accomplished leader with extensive experience in strategic asset management, infrastructure planning or managing large and diverse infrastructure portfolios.
Commercially astute and politically aware, you are recognised for your ability to influence, inspire and build trust across a broad range of stakeholders. While you bring strong technical expertise, your greatest strengths lie in your leadership, strategic thinking and ability to turn plans into practical outcomes.
Your experience includes fostering a high-performing culture, developing organisational capability and partnering across the organisation to deliver long-term priorities.
Equally comfortable balancing operational, financial and community considerations, you exercise sound judgement and make decisions that create lasting value.
Most importantly, you are an authentic and collaborative leader who empowers people, builds strong relationships and fosters a culture of accountability, innovation and continuous improvement.
