Governance Coordinator
to lead and coordinate governance activities across a NSW Council.

Rate: Up to $75ph + super
Candidates with higher pay expectations will be considered In this pivotal role, you will:
- Provide expert governance advice and support to Council business units to promote consistency and integrity in decision-making.
- Develop and maintain governance frameworks, systems, policies and procedures to drive continuous improvement and ensure legislative compliance.
- Facilitate effective communication and ethical conduct across Councillors, Council committees, and administrative forums.
- Oversee key corporate and statutory reporting, including the Annual Report, and support the conduct of local government elections.
- Champion good governance culture by providing training, guidance and frameworks that uphold Council’s adopted values, Code of Conduct and ethical standards.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- A tertiary qualification in Law
(or a related discipline), with strong knowledge of local government legislation and governance principles.
- Demonstrated experience in a governance or legal advisory capacity, preferably within a public sector or local government environment.
- Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality reports, frameworks and policy documents.
