Public Sector People is seeking a detail-oriented
Finance Officer – Rates & Revenue
to a council in Northwest Sydney.
This role plays a key part in supporting the delivery of Council’s revenue and rating functions, ensuring financial information is accurate, reconciled, and managed in line with legislative and organisational requirements.
This is a contract role to start ASAP. Key Responsibilities:
- Process rates and revenue transactions including Section 603 Certificates, pensioner concessions, transfers, journals and refunds
- Maintain Council’s rating and property database in accordance with legislation and internal policies
- Assist with cash management activities, including daily bank reconciliations and cashbook processing
- Manage and maintain debtor accounts, supporting effective debt recovery processes
- Process daily banking transactions including direct deposits, downloads and reconciliations
- Assist with investment monitoring and reporting where required
- Ensure timely completion of financial reconciliations and reporting
Essential experience: - Experience working in Local Government
- Experience with Technology One
- Experience working in rates, revenue, or finance administration
- Strong reconciliation and data processing skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
