Finance Officer – Contract Opportunity (Remote Work)
$42–$50 per hour + super | 38 hours per week | ASAP start – 2-month contract
Our client, a well-regarded Local Council in Western Victoria, is seeking an experienced Finance Officer to support their Finance team during a busy period.
This is a fully remote position, offering a great opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a community-focused organisation while working from home. However, candidate must be based in Victoria.
We are looking for a candidate with strong experience across Balance Sheet and Credit Card reconciliations, as well as monthly reporting and budget analysis. This role will suit someone who has worked in Local Government and understands the systems, processes, and reporting standards required in the sector.
You will work closely with the wider Finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial information, support month-end processes, and assist with ongoing review of financial data. Your ability to pick up new systems quickly, manage competing priorities, and work independently will be highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
• Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Credit Card reconciliations
• Monthly reporting activities
• Budget analysis and financial review
• Supporting the Finance team with ad-hoc tasks as required
About You:
• Previous experience in Local Government
• Tertiary qualification in an Accounting-related field
• Minimum 2–3 years' experience in a similar position
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
