Public Sector People are seeking a high-calibre Finance Business Partner
to provide insightful financial analysis, strategic advice, and hands-on support to multiple divisions of Council.
This role is pivotal in strengthening financial management, supporting the cost-of-service program, and enabling data-driven decisions across the organisation.
This is an initial 6-month contract with potential for extension and/or conversion to permanent.

This role is pivotal in strengthening financial management, supporting the cost-of-service program, and enabling data-driven decisions across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with Managers and Executive Directors to monitor financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and implement improvements aligned with Council strategy
- Prepare monthly financial reports, including detailed variance analysis and clear performance commentary
- Coordinate divisional budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and acting as a key liaison with the FP&R Unit
- Develop and enhance business cases using financial modelling and cash flow analysis
- Deliver ad hoc financial analysis to support operational and strategic initiatives
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance across financial practices
- CPA or CA qualified (essential)
- Local government experience preferred
- Public sector or large, multi-division environment experience will be highly regarded
- Strong experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and business partnering
- Confident communicator with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with senior stakeholders in a complex organisation
