About the Organisation
PSP is supporting a purpose-driven organisation providing housing solutions that support people and communities across Australia. With a focus on delivering quality housing and positive resident outcomes, the organisation manages a diverse portfolio spanning social housing, affordable housing and Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA).

This is an opportunity to join an organisation where property and facilities management plays an important role in ensuring residents have access to safe, functional and well-maintained homes. Working collaboratively with a broader Property Services team, you will contribute to the ongoing performance of a significant residential asset and help establish strong operational foundations from the outset.

About the Role
The Facilities Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance and presentation of a high-profile, 27-storey mixed-use residential building in Perth CBD, comprising 219 apartments across social housing, affordable housing and SDA.

Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Assets, you will take ownership of onsite facilities operations, working closely with the wider WA Property Services team to coordinate maintenance, manage contractors and ensure building services and infrastructure operate safely, efficiently and in line with relevant compliance requirements.

With the building preparing to open, this is an opportunity to be involved from the early stages, commencing approximately six weeks before opening to help establish maintenance processes, coordinate contractors and ensure the building is operationally ready.

The role offers a broad mix of responsibilities across building infrastructure, preventative and responsive maintenance, defect management, inspections and upgrades. You will oversee contractor performance across essential services, monitor compliance, maintain asset and maintenance records, manage operating expenditure and respond to issues as they arise.

You will also work closely with Housing Officers and the Allocations team to coordinate repairs and maintenance across individual dwellings, including vacate inspections, while helping maintain a positive experience for residents.

This is a hands on, site-based opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving practical problems and ensuring a building is maintained to a high standard. You will have the autonomy to manage day-to-day operations while working collaboratively with an established property team.

About You
You are an experienced facilities or property professional with a strong understanding of building infrastructure, maintenance and contractor management. You enjoy being close to the operational side of a building and are confident coordinating competing priorities in a live residential environment.

You bring experience managing preventative and reactive maintenance, overseeing contractors and service providers, identifying defects and ensuring issues are followed through to resolution. You understand the importance of building compliance, workplace health and safety and maintaining accurate asset and maintenance records.

You will be organised, proactive and comfortable working autonomously, with the communication skills to build effective relationships with contractors, internal stakeholders and residents. You can manage day-to-day operational challenges while maintaining a strong focus on safety, service delivery and building presentation.

Residential apartment or mixed use building experience will be highly regarded, as will exposure to social housing, affordable housing, SDA or other residential environments supporting people with diverse needs.

This role would strongly suit:
  • A Facilities Manager with experience managing high-density residential apartment buildings or mixed-use developments.
  • A residential property or facilities professional experienced in contractor coordination, building maintenance and defect management.
  • A building operations professional with a strong understanding of essential services, compliance and preventative maintenance.
  • A facilities or property professional from a community housing, affordable housing, SDA or other residential environment looking to take ownership of a significant building.
Relevant qualifications in facilities management, building services, property, engineering, a trade or a related discipline are desirable. A current driver's licence is required, along with the ability to complete relevant employment screening checks.

The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to take ownership of facilities operations within a significant residential building, playing a key role in preparing the asset for opening and establishing effective day-to-day maintenance and contractor management processes.

You will join a collaborative property team and contribute to maintaining a safe, functional and welcoming environment for residents across a diverse mixed tenure housing model.

After-hours work is expected to be minimal and will be remunerated in accordance with the applicable arrangements.

Location: Perth CBD.
