for upcoming temporary contract opportunities across Queensland State Government.
These roles support a broad range of policy functions across government, including policy development, legislative reform, strategic advice, program design, stakeholder consultation, and government priorities.

We are building a pipeline of high-calibre policy professionals ahead of anticipated hiring demand across multiple government departments and agencies.
We're looking to connect with candidates who can step into policy-focused roles and deliver high-quality analysis, advice and outcomes within complex and fast-paced government environments.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Researching, analysing and evaluating complex policy issues, trends and emerging challenges
- Developing evidence-based policy advice, briefing notes, cabinet submissions and discussion papers
- Contributing to the development, implementation and review of policies, frameworks and strategies
- Preparing high-quality correspondence, reports, ministerial briefs and executive-level documentation
- Engaging and consulting with internal and external stakeholders to inform policy development
- Managing policy projects and supporting the delivery of strategic initiatives
- Conducting legislative and regulatory analysis to support policy recommendations
- Monitoring policy outcomes and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
- Translating complex information into clear and concise advice for decision-makers
- Supporting cross-government collaboration and contributing to organisational objectives
About you:
- Experience in policy, strategy, governance, program management or related roles (AO5-AO8 level or equivalent)
- Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated experience preparing policy documents, briefing materials and executive correspondence
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders
- Ability to analyse complex information and provide practical, evidence-based recommendations
- Strong stakeholder engagement and consultation experience
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment
- Previous Queensland Government or broader public sector experience is highly regarded but not essential
- Australian citizenship, permanent residency or valid working rights
