Public Sector People are partnering with a local government organisation to recruit for an Events Officer.
Contract: 3 months | Immediate Start
Hourly Pay Rate: $50- $60 p/h + Super
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all aspects of event delivery, including planning, logistics, execution, and post-event review.
- Act as the primary contact for technical and production requirements, providing guidance to internal teams and stakeholders.
- Prepare and manage budgets, source quotes, oversee procurement processes, and ensure compliance with organisational policies.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies, including safety plans, traffic management, and contingency measures for adverse conditions.
- Lead and support event staff, including casuals and contractors, ensuring smooth operations on-site.
- Build strong relationships with internal departments and external partners, while maintaining accurate documentation such as schedules, run sheets, and reports.
Essential:
- Relevant qualifications or significant experience in event coordination and delivery of large-scale or community events.
- Strong knowledge of risk management and compliance requirements for public events.
- Technical understanding of event infrastructure, including audio-visual, staging, and site layouts.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and timelines under pressure.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across diverse groups.
- Flexibility to work outside standard hours and assist with physical event setup in line with safety standards.
- 2+ years experience in an administration support role within local government or working in a politically sensitive environment
- Previous experience with TechOne, Content Manager/TRIM, Authority or Pathway highly regarded
