We are seeking an experienced and organised Project Officer to support the delivery of community-focused initiatives within an equity, inclusion and wellbeing portfolio for a 3 month contract on a part time basis. (4 days per week) to join a local council in the Northern Suburbs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working across program coordination, stakeholder engagement and project support, contributing to initiatives that create positive outcomes for diverse communities.

Working closely with senior program leaders, you will play a key role in supporting the planning, coordination and delivery of projects, events and community engagement activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate events and program activities including venues, catering, equipment and onsite support
  • Provide administrative and operational support across multiple projects and initiatives
  • Assist with planning, implementation and monitoring of program action plans
  • Support stakeholder and community engagement activities
  • Coordinate logistics for meetings, events and community programs
  • Raise purchase orders, process invoices and maintain accurate financial and administrative records
  • Provide project support to ensure initiatives are delivered on time and effectively
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders
About You To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
  • Experience providing operational or project support across programs or initiatives
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Experience coordinating events, programs or community engagement activities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience providing administrative and financial support (purchase orders, invoices, record keeping)
  • An interest in or understanding of equity, inclusion, wellbeing or community programs
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Requirements
  • Relevant qualification in community development, business administration or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Local Council experience
  • Event experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Council finance and procurement systems such as Oracle.
