is seeking an experienced
Emergency Management Officer
to support their planning, preparedness, response and recovery functions. This role sits within the Municipal Laws, Public Assets & Emergency Management team and plays a key part in ensuring emergency arrangements meet legislative requirements and community expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the Municipal Emergency Management Plan (MEMP)
and sub-plans.
- Provide administrative support for MEMPC
and MFMPC
meetings.
- Assist with emergency management planning, reporting, policies and procedures.
- Act as system administrator for CrisisWorks
and Altitude.
- Support the Municipal Fire Prevention Officer with reporting and maintaining the Fire Management Plan.
- Undertake duties as Deputy MEMO
and assist as Assistant MFPO.
- Support emergency response operations during incidents as required.
- Maintain readiness of Emergency Operations Centres (EOC)
and Emergency Relief Centres (ERC).
- Assist with training, exercises and maintaining staff training records.
- Participate in regional working groups and stakeholder engagement.
- Support community engagement initiatives and emergency management communications.
About You
- Experience in emergency management, administration, governance or project coordination.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of Victorian emergency management arrangements (preferred).
- High-level proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital systems.
- Current Driver's Licence, valid Police Check & WWCC.
