Digital Communications Adviser

  • Full-time Temp contract through to June 2026, with potential extension

Public Sector People are partnering with a Local Council to recruit an experienced Digital Communications Adviser for a full-time temporary opportunity within a communications and engagement function.
  
In this role, you’ll be responsible for the effective operation of multiple websites, an intranet and associated digital platforms, ensuring content is accurate, accessible and engaging for both internal and external audiences. You’ll provide specialist advice across web communications, social media, multimedia and digital strategy, supporting organisation-wide initiatives and day-to-day operational needs.
  
You’ll be part of a collaborative team delivering practical, hands-on digital solutions in a fast-paced local council environment.
  
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Manage and maintain website and intranet content using CMS platforms.
  • Ensure digital content is accurate, accessible and aligned with organisational standards.
  • Convert e‑newsletters, documents and forms into effective digital formats using HTML and CSS.
  • Create and support multimedia content including video, photography and audio.
  • Support social media and digital channels to ensure consistent and effective communication.
  • Train and support staff to update and maintain online content and forms.
  • Contribute to digital strategy, guidelines and continuous improvement.
  • Provide reporting and insights to support performance and decision-making.
  
About you:
  • Experience managing websites or intranet platforms in a government or complex organisation.
  • Practical knowledge of CMS platforms, web technologies and digital tools.
  • Ability to provide clear, solutions-focused digital advice to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience training or supporting staff in digital content management.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines.
  • Relevant qualifications in communications, digital or IT are desirable.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, Office 365 and online forms is an advantage.
  • Current ‘C’ Class driver’s licence and valid working rights in Australia.
