About the RoleA dynamic opportunity exists for a highly experienced
Development Engineering Coordinator
to join a local government team responsible for managing and assessing infrastructure requirements for new developments and subdivisions. This is a key leadership role within the Subdivision and Development Certification team, offered on a 12-month contract basis.This position plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality public infrastructure outcomes across the local area. You’ll lead and support a team of professional engineers and planners to deliver timely and compliant development assessments and infrastructure approvals aligned with legislative frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and undertake engineering assessments for Development Applications, ensuring alignment with all relevant legislation and standards
- Manage post-consent processes including Subdivision Works Certificates and approvals under the Roads Act 1993 and Local Government Act 1993
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to a team of nine professionals across engineering and development planning
- Drive continuous improvement in engineering policies, practices and the delivery of public infrastructure
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support precinct planning and development activities
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering
(or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in development engineering assessments and determinations
- Demonstrated experience in managing applications for Subdivision Works Certificates and Roads Act approvals
- Strong working knowledge of MUSIC
and DRAINS
modelling software
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence
and White Card (General Construction Induction)
- Proven leadership and team coordination experience in a local government or consultancy environment
