We’re working with a large, enterprise-scale environment within the QLD Government seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join a busy data and analytics team on a contract basis.

This role suits someone who enjoys building reliable data pipelines, working across cloud and on-prem platforms, and enabling high-quality, trusted data for reporting and analytics.

You’ll be responsible for designing and supporting data ingestion processes into an enterprise data warehouse, developing scalable ETL solutions, and ensuring data is accurate, accessible, and fit for purpose. The role involves close collaboration with analysts, technical teams, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions aligned to business priorities.

What you’ll be doing:

• Designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes
• Supporting enterprise data warehouse and analytics platforms
• Working across cloud and on-prem data environments
• Translating business requirements into robust data solutions
• Providing operational support and continuous improvement of data platforms

What we’re looking for:

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer in complex environments
• Strong background in data integration, ETL, and data modelling
• Experience working with cloud-based data platforms (Azure preferred)
• Solid communication skills and the ability to work with non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and deliver to deadlines
