Public Sector People are partnering with a local government organisation to recruit for an Customer Service Officer.
Contract: 3 months | Immediate Start
Hourly Pay Rate: $40 - $48 p/h + Super
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality front-line customer service to residents via phone, email, and in person, responding to enquiries about council services, policies, and procedures.
- Process customer requests, complaints, and service applications accurately using council systems, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of council services, programs, and regulations to give accurate and consistent information to the community.
- Liaise with internal departments to escalate and track service requests, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently.
- Handle difficult or complex customer interactions professionally, using conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Record all customer interactions in the system, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with council policies and privacy requirements.
Essential:
- 2+ years experience in an administration support role within local government or working in a politically sensitive environment
- Previous experience with TechOne, Content Manager/TRIM, Authority or Pathway highly regarded
