Public Sector People are partnering with a local government organisation to recruit for an Customer Service Officer.
Contract: 3 months | Immediate Start
Hourly Pay Rate: $40 - $47 p/h + Super
Responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for residents, businesses, and community members by responding to inbound calls, emails, and online enquiries in a professional and customer‑focused manner.
- Provide accurate and timely information on a range of council services including rates, waste management, parking, planning, and community services.
- Record, assess, and allocate customer requests, service issues, and complaints using council systems, ensuring timely follow‑up in accordance with service standards.
- Resolve enquiries at first point of contact where possible and escalate complex or sensitive matters to the appropriate internal teams.
- Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions while meeting call centre performance targets and customer service KPIs.
Essential:
- 2+ years experience in an customer service role within local government or working in a politically sensitive environment
- Previous experience with TechOne, Content Manager/TRIM, Authority or Pathway highly regarded
