Public Sector People are partnering with a Regional Council to recruit a
Customer Service Officer for a temporary contract through to
30 September 2025, with the potential for extension.

- Pay Rate:
$48.20 – $51.35 per hour + Super
- Hours:
38 hours per week, Monday to Friday (no weekends)
- Start Date:
ASAP (Interviews to be conducted immediately)
About the Role
You will be the first point of contact for customer enquiries, providing accurate and timely responses to the public while processing applications, handling payments, and coordinating with internal departments. The focus is on resolving enquiries at first contact and delivering high-quality service in line with Council standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to inbound customer enquiries with professionalism and accuracy
- Process service requests and applications across council systems
- Manage financial transactions and maintain accurate records
- Navigate multiple systems confidently to resolve enquiries
- Support continual service delivery improvement initiatives
About You
- Previous Government experience highly regarded (Local, State or Federal)
- Strong ability to navigate systems and manage high volumes of work
- Proven customer service skills, with strong written and verbal communication
- High attention to detail and accuracy in a process-driven environment
- Must reside locally in or near Emerald, QLD
