Public Sector People are recruiting for
two experienced Contract Specialists
on behalf of a State Government Department. The purpose of these roles is to support the efficient, diligent, and commercially astute management of high‑value contracts underpinning a major infrastructure design and delivery program. These opportunities offer
up to 9 months engagement
with immediate start availability.
- Initial 9 Month Contract
- $59.00 per hour plus super
- Brisbane CBD Location
Role Responsibilities & Key Duties
As the Contract Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Administering multiple high‑value (up to $70m per annum) and high‑volume contracts (50–100 active projects).
- Setting up and maintaining cost tracking structures at contract, project and work‑order level.
- Reviewing monthly payment claims, preparing accruals, and supporting financial reporting.
- Providing expert advice on contract management issues and supporting joint governance forums.
- Developing strong relationships with contractor commercial teams for rapid, constructive issue resolution.
- Monitoring contractor KPIs, overhead allocations, and claim validity, and negotiating unjustified claims.
- Identifying trends and contributing to contract negotiations, variations, and performance improvements.
- Supporting internal stakeholders including program managers and portfolio teams.
- Driving continuous improvement in contract administration practices.
About You
- Strong background in Contract Management
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage senior stakeholders
- High attention to detail across cost control, contract interpretation, and claims validation
- Experience in major infrastructure contracts, KPI assessment, and collaborative contracting models (TCE/ECI)
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation capability, and vendor management experience
