2 x Communications Officer Contracts – Local Government

$55–$75 per hour + super | Immediate Start | Metro Sydney

Public Sector People isworking with two local councils in Sydney to recruit Communications Officers for the following contract roles:

3-month contract – with the opportunity to apply for the permanent role
12-month contract – with strong potential for extension

In these roles, you’ll play a key part in delivering high-quality, multi-channel communications that keep the community informed about Council services, facilities, projects, and events.

Do you have:

Exceptional writing skills across media releases, briefing notes, media responses, speeches, feature articles, and marketing collateral (e.g. flyers, posters)
Strong knowledge of the media landscape and experience pitching and placing positive media stories
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
Experience developing and implementing communication strategies for events, projects, and policies
Background in communications, ideally within local government or the broader public sector
