Public Sector People are working with a local council to recruit a Civil Design Engineer for a 3-month temporary contract assignment.

We are looking for an experienced Civil Design Engineer with local government exposure to join one of our valued council clients on a 3-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful community infrastructure projects while working within a collaborative and supportive council environment.

The Opportunity In this role, you will play a key part in delivering drainage infrastructure outcomes as part of Council’s Drainage Renewal and Flood Modelling Program. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external consultants to ensure high-quality, compliant, and practical design solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs using CAD software for drainage infrastructure projects.
• Prepare construction cost estimates and design documentation.
• Project manage external contractors, specialists, and design consultants to ensure compliance with Council specifications.
• Provide technical advice and support to senior engineers, coordinators, and project teams across the organisation.
