Responsibilities:
- Assess and determine Construction Certificates (CCs), Complying Development Certificates (CDCs), and Occupation Certificates (OCs) in accordance with the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and relevant Building Codes.
- Ensure all development proposals comply with the Building Code of Australia (BCA), applicable planning instruments, and council policies.
- Provide professional advice to applicants, developers, and internal stakeholders on compliance pathways and technical building standards.
- Conduct critical stage building inspections to verify compliance with approved plans, the BCA, and relevant standards.
- Identify and document building non-compliances, issue directions or notices under relevant legislation, and ensure rectification in a timely and lawful manner.
- Maintain accurate inspection and certification records to support enforcement actions and statutory reporting requirements.
Essential:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience Building Certifier position or equivalent
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as building surveying or equivalent
- Current registration as Building Surveyor – Restricted (Class 1 & 10 Buildings)
