Public Sector People is a specialist recruitment partner to government organisations across Queensland.

Due to sustained growth over the past 24 months, we are looking to appoint a Blue Collar Recruitment Consultant to join our team and take ownership of a well established desk.

This is a unique opportunity to step into a role with existing clients, consistent inbound work, and strong demand across local and state government.

About the Role As a Recruitment Consultant, you will manage a temporary recruitment desk focused on blue collar and operational roles across Queensland Government and Local Councils.

Typical roles include labourers, drivers, gardeners, logistics and civil works positions.

You will be responsible for building trusted relationships with clients and candidates, managing end to end recruitment processes, and growing the desk through both service delivery and targeted business development.

You will receive one on one training and mentoring from an experienced leader in government recruitment, giving you the tools and confidence to become a specialist in your market.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a temporary recruitment desk across Queensland Government
• Recruit blue collar and operational roles including drivers, warehouse, civil and outdoor staff
• Build and maintain strong relationships with candidates and clients
• Partner with local, state and federal government stakeholders
• Lead client meetings and presentations
• Identify and develop new business opportunities within the Queensland market
• Screen resumes, assess applications and match candidates to client requirements
• Approach each day with energy, resilience and a phone first mindset
• Immerse yourself in our culture with a genuine commitment to doing right by clients, candidates and colleagues

About You

You will bring energy, drive and a strong interest in recruitment and relationship building. Experience in recruitment, labour hire or a phone based sales or service role will be highly regarded, but attitude and coachability are essential.

A curious growth mindset, strong communication skills, and the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders will set you up for success in this role.
