About the Role
Sunshine Coast Council is seeking an experienced Arborist Technician to join their Parks & Gardens team on a 3-month contract. In this hands-on role, you’ll support the maintenance of street trees and parklands, helping to keep public spaces safe, clean, and well-presented.

Sunshine Coast Council is seeking an experienced Arborist Technician to join their Parks & Gardens team on a 3-month contract. In this hands-on role, you’ll support the maintenance of street trees and parklands, helping to keep public spaces safe, clean, and well-presented.
Key Responsibilities
- Tree maintenance across parks and streetscapes
- Tree climbing and pruning
- Safe operation of trucks and wood chippers
- General labouring and site clean-up
- Maintaining tools, equipment, and work records
- Working as part of a safety-focused team
You’re a reliable, physically fit worker who enjoys outdoor work and contributing to a productive team environment.
To be successful, you will have:
- AC/DC (Chemical Spray) ticket
- C Class Driver’s Licence
- Horticulture, Agriculture or Arboriculture skills, or relevant experience
- Labouring experience
- Good level of fitness and willingness to work as part of an efficient team
- Chainsaw Certificate (Level 2)
- MR Truck Licence
- Traffic Controller Ticket
- Tree Climber’s Certificate
- 3-month contract
- 38 hours per week
