Rate: AO7 - $88.30 - $94.59 per hour plus super

This is a senior procurement leadership role embedded within a high-performing team, offering the opportunity to deliver strategic procurement outcomes and contract management expertise across a complex regulatory environment. You will serve as a trusted advisor, leading high-value sourcing activities, developing procurement policy and frameworks, and building the capability of the broader organisation.
About the Role Reporting to senior leadership, you will provide expert sourcing and contract management advice while supporting strategic and operational procurement objectives. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Lead the planning, development and delivery of significant procurement processes including go-to-market documentation, evaluation plans, evaluation reports and contract management plans.
- Provide expert procurement advice to staff at all levels, with a particular focus on high value and complex strategic procurement activities.
- Lead the contract management of outsourced service vendor panels, including performance monitoring, financial governance, insurance and compliance obligations.
- Develop and maintain procurement policies, procedures and guidance material in alignment with the Queensland Procurement Policy and whole-of-government frameworks.
- Monitor and report on procurement performance and compliance, and undertake analysis to inform forward planning of procurement activities.
- Implement strategic procurement planning, including annual Agency Procurement Plans.
- Lead probity planning and act in the probity advisor role for high-value procurement processes where appropriate.
- Identify service delivery gaps requiring procurement activity and lead go-to-market processes to maintain and supplement vendor panel capability.
- Provide authoritative procurement governance advice and support to key internal stakeholders, including the delivery of education and training programs to uplift organisational capability.
What You’ll Bring To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Thorough knowledge and practical experience in procurement and contract management, including strategic sourcing, vendor panel establishment and management, and end-to-end contract lifecycle management.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, tailor and implement procurement strategies and documentation in accordance with Queensland Government procurement policy and frameworks.
- Experience leading go-to-market procurement activities and preparing procurement plans, evaluation plans, evaluation reports and contract management plans.
- Sound understanding of probity principles and experience acting in a probity advisor capacity for high-value and sensitive procurement processes.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to monitor performance data, identify risks and inform procurement planning.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to consult and influence at all levels of government in a customer-centric manner.
- Proven ability to lead and support multidisciplinary teams and internal stakeholders to achieve procurement and commercial outcomes.
- Demonstrated knowledge of legislative and policy frameworks relevant to Queensland Government procurement, including risk identification and management.
