Public Sector People are working with a QLD State Government Department to recruit a AO7 Principal Procurement Officer (ICT) on an initial 6 Month Contract. The successful candidate will be a key part of the Contracts, Procurement and Vendor Management Office, which is responsible for ethical procurement, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring all contracts are clear and enforceable.

  • Rate: AO7 ($87.02-$93.18 per hour plus super)
Accountabilities and Key Responsibilities:   
  • Strategic Sourcing: You will proactively collaborate with technology leaders to deeply understand their business and sourcing needs, ensuring procurement activities are aligned with their priorities.
  • Expert Procurement Leadership: You will lead complex and strategic ICT procurements from start to finish. This includes preparing high-quality executive briefings and all necessary procurement documentation, such as Significant Procurement Plans and Evaluation Reports.
  • Contract Negotiation & Compliance: You will be responsible for negotiating and developing enforceable contracts, specifically using the QITC Comprehensive Contract Conditions. You will also ensure all procurement activities adhere to financial delegations and budget requirements.
  • Stakeholder & Vendor Management: You will lead evaluation processes, facilitate discussions to clarify contract responsibilities, and engage with suppliers to resolve clarifications. Diligent record-keeping of all correspondence is also a core responsibility.
  
Success Criteria & Desired Skills   
  • Experience: You must have extensive experience in a complex ICT procurement role within a large-scale organization.
  • Technical Expertise: You will need expertise in QITC Government contracting frameworks and the ability to understand how business needs translate into product or service deliverables.
  • Specialization (Highly Desirable): Experience in procuring business-critical ICT outsourced services is highly regarded, including areas such as cloud software, managed support, telecommunications, and contact centre solutions.
