Public Sector People are seeking an experienced AO7 Financial Business Analyst to support a major financial uplift and improvement program. This role is ideal for an analyst with strong financial acumen, excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and proven capability supporting projects in complex public‑sector environments.

You will work closely with finance, operations and project teams to analyse processes, assess risks, support financial control improvements, and ensure successful delivery of project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse financial processes, data structures and workflow dependencies to inform project decision‑making.
  • Assess business impacts, risks and financial control implications associated with system or process changes.
  • Develop high‑quality documentation including business requirements, process maps, functional specifications and analysis reports.
  • Partner with finance and operational stakeholders to ensure policy, procedural and control changes are understood and adopted.
  • Support testing, readiness, transition and implementation activities.
  • Provide input into project planning, governance papers and progress reporting.
  • Identify improvement opportunities within financial processes, controls and reporting.
  • Work collaboratively across multi‑disciplinary teams to support successful project delivery.
  About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Strong experience as a Financial Business Analyst within government or large complex organisations.
  • Practical, recent experience working with SAP S/4HANA, particularly within Finance (e.g., GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Reporting).
  • Strong understanding of financial governance, internal controls and public-sector finance frameworks.
  • Ability to interpret business needs and translate them into structured analysis and documentation.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication and facilitation skills.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to work both autonomously and within a collaborative project environment.
