Public Sector People are working with a Queensland State Government Department to recruit a Senior Project Finance Officer on an initial 6 month contract, based in Brisbane CBD. In this role, you'll provide critical financial management and governance support for high-impact projects that help Queensland communities every day.

Location: Brisbane CBD - Hybrid Working Available
Pay Rate: $78.02 - $83.32 per hour plus super
Contract Duration: 6 Months with likelihood of extension

About the role: 
   
As the Senior Project Finance Officer, you will be an integral part of the team, providing expert financial advice and solutions. You'll use your superior analytical and technical skills to ensure projects stay on track, within budget, and in line with government policies. Working closely with project managers, procurement and contract professionals, and key stakeholders, you will be responsible for:
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Developing detailed financial reports, forecasting expenditures, and providing proactive budget advice.
  • Risk Management: Assisting with financial risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Systems and Data Integrity: Managing financial information in corporate systems and advanced spreadsheets, ensuring data accuracy, and investigating variances.
  • Process Improvement: Developing and implementing effective financial management processes and procedures.
  • Collaboration: Working with a wide range of professionals to contribute to whole-of-government outcomes.
