Public Sector People are partnering with a High-profile State Government Department to recruit an AO6 Senior Communication Advisor for a temporary contract position until 2028 with possible extension based on the Sunshine Coast.

The successful applicate will lead strategic communications and stakeholder engagement to support a major transport infrastructure project and maintain strong public relations.

Benefits:
  • $77 - $82 per hour + Super
  • Monday to Friday – 38 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and manage strategic communication plans and campaigns for regional transport projects.
  • Work with delivery teams to craft clear messaging that communicates the social and economic benefits of infrastructure projects.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships with contractors, community groups, and project partners.
  • Produce engaging communication materials including media releases, newsletters, and social media content.
  • Provide senior leaders and project teams with expert communications and engagement advice.
  • Identify potential communication risks and proactively develop strategies to address them.
About you:
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a communications and community engagement role, preferably within infrastructure, construction, or government sectors.
  • International Association of Public Participation (IAP2) Certification, or a willingness to obtain certification independently
