As a Project Manager you will provide high-level project management expertise and leadership in the delivery of capital works projects across a range of programs. You will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of project implementation, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery, while also supporting and mentoring other project staff.
Key responsibilities - Deliver and coordinate capital works projects, from pre-design through to post-construction.
- Lead, mentor, and support Project Managers and staff within the Capital Works Team to ensure high performance and quality outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, ensuring effective engagement with clients, consultants, contractors, and other business units.
- Provide high-level contract administration, acting as Superintendent or Principal’s Representative where required.
- Lead negotiations with consultants, contractors, and authorities to deliver value-for-money solutions.
- Manage project performance, budgets, timeframes, reporting (including RED reports), and quality assurance requirements.
- Support Program Managers in determining attainable fees, approvals, and client billing.
- Ensure effective coordination and communication across project teams and stakeholders to achieve objectives.
Successful candidate - Proven experience in project management within the building and construction industry.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, mentor, and develop staff.
- Demonstrated ability to manage contracts, budgets, project risks, and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a focus on delivering practical and value-for-money solutions.
- A collaborative and solutions-focused approach, with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- A current Queensland C Class driver’s license.
Highly regarded
- Experience delivering projects in Justice, Law & Order, Youth Justice or Correctional environments.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, Town Planning, Quantity Surveying) and/or AIPM RegPM or equivalent certification.
