We are working with a Queensland State Government Department, seeking a dedicated
Procurement Officer
to join the team. In this role, you'll be responsible for a range of vital procurement activities, ensuring all processes align with the Queensland Procurement Policy. You will play a key part in preparing and managing tenders, working with suppliers, and ensuring our operations are compliant and cost-effective.

Key responsibilities will include: - Tender Management:
Prepare and manage the end-to-end tender process for various categories
- Policy & Compliance:
Implement and ensure full compliance with the Queensland Procurement Policy and other relevant legislation.
- Supplier Relations:
Work effectively with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and maintain high performance standards.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
Communicate procurement strategies to staff and provide high-quality customer service to the Department's clients, including managing escalated queries.
- Process Improvement:
Contribute to the development and implementation of medium and major contracts and local procurement practices.
What we're looking for: - Proven Experience:
Demonstrated experience in a Government procurement role, with a strong understanding of government procurement processes.
- Policy Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge of the Queensland Procurement Policy and other relevant legislation.
- Strong Communicator:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Problem Solver:
A knack for negotiation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving.
- Organised:
Exceptional time management and organisational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
