Public Sector People is recruiting for an AO5 Procurement and Contract Support Officer on behalf of a State Government Department. This role is a temporary position with potential for extension. The procurement team within the department will engage with providers to provide value for money in supplier negotiations. 

About the role:
 
As an AO5 Procurement and Contract Support Officer, you will support the delivery of low to medium complex procurement projects, ensuring compliance with departmental and state policies. Your role will involve liaising with internal clients and external suppliers, preparing documentation and correspondence, maintaining accurate procurement records, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. You'll play a key role in ensuring value for money, effective stakeholder engagement, and consistent, audit-ready processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Procurement Planning & Delivery: Lead low-to-medium value/complexity procurement projects, ensuring alignment with customer needs and delivering continuous improvement in procurement outcomes.
  • Governance & Compliance: Follow Queensland Government procurement processes, address non-compliance issues, and provide guidance to local teams to ensure consistent standards.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with customers, suppliers, and the Strategic Procurement team to inform, support, and enhance the procurement process.
  • Market Intelligence & Contract Management: Maintain supplier knowledge databases, support effective negotiations, and manage contract implementation to ensure performance incentives and value delivery.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and report procurement benefits, manage supplier performance issues, and support development of contingency plans for critical suppliers/services.
Highly Desirable: GGS0060 Experience

About You:
  
  • Previous Government experience in Local, State or Federal Government desirable
  • Ability to quickly and accurately navigate multiple systems
  • Well-developed interpersonal, written communication and financial literacy skills
  • Relevant industry qualifications or equivalent experience
