Public Sector People are working with a QLD State Government seeking an organised, detail-oriented Finance Officer to support day-to-day financial and business operations across the Technology & Business Services team. You’ll focus on budget tracking, financial processing, and reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance.
- Contract until December 2026
- Pay Rate: $59.16 per hour plus super
- Part time opportunity - 0.6 FTE
What you’ll do
- Monitor and maintain budgets, including tracking expenditure and supporting forecasting.
- Prepare and process payments, journals, accruals and other finance transactions in line with relevant policies and required timeframes.
- Support end-of-month activities, including reconciliations and investigation of variances.
- Produce routine financial reports and ad hoc analysis for managers and senior stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, ensuring compliance with governance and audit requirements.
- Support contract and supplier administration, tracking spend and assisting with contract compliance.
- Provide general business and administrative support, including timely responses to finance-related queries.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes and reporting practices.

You’ll bring: - Experience in a finance role
- Familiarity with SAP / SAP Fiori and strong Excel skills (Power BI a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise and meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.
- Sound understanding of financial governance, reconciliations, and reporting disciplines.
- Clear, professional communication and stakeholder support skills.
- Must be able to work Thursdays and Fridays each week
