Public Sector People are recruiting for a AO4 Finance Officer on behalf of a State Government Department. You'll play a vital role in analysing financial data to support crucial loan and grant programs. If you're passionate about finance and have a knack for detailed analysis, we want to hear from you. This is a temporary opportunity for 3 months with potential for extension.
  • $59.16 per hour plus super
  • Monday to Friday – 36.25 hours per week
  • State Government Opportunity
  • 3 Month Contract with high potential for extension
The responsibilities and duties undertaken by the role include, but are not limited to:
  • Analyse and review the extraction of financial statements (eg balance sheets, profit & loss statements, trading schedules and cashflow budgets) to assist in determining the eligibility of applicants for a variety of loan schemes administered by QLD Government.
  • Completing the financial analysis in an accurate and timely manner to allow further determination by relevant decision makers.
  • Communicating effectively, both internally and externally, particularly as it relates to loan assessments, including the review and/or compilation of financial data.
  • Contributing towards the effective management of the business unit’s resources and information in accordance with governance and policy frameworks, including but not limited to risk management, work health and safety, and records management.

Skills, Abilities and Knowledge
  • An ability to consolidate and/or review financial statements and cash flows to determine accurate, timely and reliable financial analysis.
  • An ability to understand and apply small business industry knowledge to this analysis.
  • An ability to provide written correspondence in a concise and complete manner.
  • A demonstrated skill in self-management of time in order to meet contracted processing deadlines and prioritise workload.
  • A demonstrated skill in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • An ability to rapidly acquire the skills necessary to utilise in-house computer based financial administration system.
  • Ability to complete existing loan reviews, within policy.
  • Ability to suggest process improvements.
  • Ability to work closely with internal & external stakeholders in a professional manner
