About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a prominent Public Sector department to find a motivated and detail-oriented
Finance Officer (AO3)
to join their Finance Services team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional who thrives in a structured, high-volume environment. You will play a key role in supporting day-to-day financial operations, ensuring compliance with public sector standards while contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will provide essential administrative and operational support across the finance function. Your daily tasks will include:
- Transactional Processing:
Process and allocate bank receipts and manage accounts payable (invoice processing) in line with established procedures.
- Revenue Support:
Assist with accounts receivable processes and proactive debt management activities.
- Technical Support:
Assist with reconciliations, preparation of journals, and maintaining accurate financial records for audit requirements.
- Inquiry Management:
Act as a point of contact for routine internal and external finance inquiries, providing professional and timely advice.
- Record Keeping:
Maintain high-quality documentation, file notes, and financial controls.
- Continuous Improvement:
Contribute to system enhancements and help drive quality service delivery within the team.
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a candidate who is organized, technically proficient, and a great communicator. To be successful, you will have:
- Finance Experience:
Proven background in finance administration, accounts, or transactional processing.
- Attention to Detail:
Exceptional accuracy when handling data and financial records.
- Time Management:
The ability to prioritize a busy workload and meet strict end-of-month deadlines.
- Strong Communication:
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and explain financial processes to non-finance stakeholders.
- Government Experience:
Prior experience within a government or shared services environment is highly advantageous but not essential.
