We are looking for an experienced
Accounts Payable Team Leader
to join our client, a well-regarded local council in Melbourne’s east. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a leadership role where you can drive process improvements, support a high-performing team, and contribute to a collaborative finance function.
In this role, you will take ownership of the end-to-end accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strong internal service delivery. You’ll lead and develop a small team, providing coaching and guidance while fostering a positive and accountable team culture.
You will also play a key role in improving processes and systems, developing procedures and training materials, and working closely with stakeholders to uplift understanding of financial policies and practices. In addition, you’ll support broader Financial Services operations, including year-end activities.
Key responsibilities include: - Leading end-to-end AP and AR functions
- Coaching, mentoring, and developing team members
- Improving processes, systems, and documentation
- Delivering training and stakeholder engagement
- Supporting financial operations and year-end requirements
About you: - Experience within Local Government, Healthcare, Education, NFP, or Government sectors
- 2–3+ years in a similar leadership or senior AP role
- Relevant tertiary qualification
- Experience with TechnologyOne (highly regarded)
