Health and Wellbeing Principal Advisor (AO7)
to lead and continuously improve enterprise-wide programs that protect worker health and support a safe, healthy and productive workforce.

- Attractive hourly rate from $87 per hour + 12% super
- Initial contract until 31st March 2027 with potential for extension

Summary:
This specialist role leads worker health, wellbeing, fitness for work and hazardous exposure initiatives across a
large Queensland civil construction workforce. Leveraging technical expertise, stakeholder engagement and organisational influence, the position drives enterprise-wide health outcomes, solves complex workforce challenges and delivers practical business-wide solutions without direct people management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead worker health programs
including health monitoring, surveillance, contractor management and governance to ensure compliance and effective workforce health outcomes.
- Oversee fitness for work and wellbeing initiatives, covering fatigue management, drug and alcohol programs, psychosocial risk management and employee wellbeing.
- Manage hazardous exposure risks
including silica, asbestos, lead, noise and chemicals through exposure monitoring, training and assurance activities.
- Provide specialist advice and drive continuous improvement
by developing policies, standards and practical organisation-wide solutions to health and wellbeing challenges.
What we are looking for:
The successful candidate will have access to occupational hygiene and specialist technical support when required; however, they will be expected to provide leadership, governance and program management across these disciplines and help continue maturing its approach to worker health and wellbeing.
- Available ASAP, more than five years' experience in health, occupational hygiene, workplace wellbeing, health and safety or a closely related field.
- Experience within construction, civil construction, transport, infrastructure, utilities, resources, rail or other comparable high-risk industries.
- Strong experience implementing and managing fit-for-work programs, including fatigue and drug and alcohol management, leading psychosocial risk management programs and workplace wellbeing initiatives.
- Experience developing enterprise-level frameworks, systems, standards, procedures and improvement programs, managing health risks associated with hazardous substances and hazardous exposures.
