Job Description

Public Sector People (PSP) are currently looking to speak to a Website Designer (Graphic Designer) who would be interested in a 3-month rolling contract within a Local Government organisation.   
  • January 2022 start date (can be flexible)
  • Currently work from home but office is based in South East Melbourne
  • 3-month contract with possibility to extend
  • Salary bracket between $40 - $56 an hour + super
This role has a huge responsibility of working on the graphic design for the organisations website as well as assisting with a huge nationwide project. This role is not for the faint hearted and will require someone who has experience as a graphic designer and a passion for the work that they do.

You will be working closely with a small team of up to 12 and you will be specifically working closely with the UX team to bring their plan to life through design.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create visual designs that inspire and engage users across various online channels such as web, social and newsletters. You will adopt a mobile first approach to conceptualise and develop visual designs across these platforms.
  • Work closely with the UX team to create designs and prototypes and to transform the online experience for customers.
  • When required, assist with marketing campaigns to align with the branding of the organisation and develop simple digital communication processes to support the campaigns and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the CX team, marketing, and developers to understand technical limitations or the digital platforms and suggest improvements or compromise where necessary. Drupal is the platform used.
Requirements Include:

The following qualifications and/or experience are required for the position:
  • A relevant degree or diploma with relevant work experience is desirable.
  • Graphic Design experience is essential to be successful in this role and the client is looking for someone who has passion for design, taking pride in their work.
  • Strong skills using design software such as Photoshop, Sketch, Illustrator, and basic skills in HTML5 and Drupal.
  • Ability to understand a design brief and then plan, develop and deliver it to the required timeframes and budgets, manage approvals and ensure a high quality of work.
  • Excellent communicator who works well within a team and can liaise well with stakeholders to understand and meet objectives.
  • Must have a CURRENT police check and working with children check
