About the Role

The Team Leader Development Engineering will facilitate the implementation of road, drainage and ancillary works as part of the Subdivision Construction process and ensure that new subdivision developments are in accordance with Council requirements and standards.
This position will also oversee the production of innovative and effective policies, plans and practices for the priority development team to ensure delivery of Council’s Road, Drainage and Open Space related infrastructure is approved in a timely manner.
As a formal leadership position, with oversight of a development engineering team, this opportunity will offer tangible career development to influence future communities in an area experiencing rapid population growth. This could be an Ideal role for someone with pre-existing development engineering experience with career future career aspirations in people and process management.
About the Successful Candidate
  • Extensive and broad municipal engineering experience particularly relating to road and drainage design, investigations and civil works and new development
  • Tertiary Degree in Civil Engineering recognised by the Institute of Engineers Australia and registered in accordance with Professional Engineers Registration Act 2019
  • Extensive and broad municipal engineering experience particularly relating to road and drainage design, investigations and civil works and new development.
  • Substantial experience managing a group of professional engineers and technical officers, including mentoring and coaching.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply engineering principles in examining engineering documentation for subdivisional plans.
  • Knowledge of Subdivision Act 1988, Planning and Environment Act 1987, Local Government Act 2020 & Water Act 1989.
  • Substantial experience in Land Development processes.
  • Current drivers licence.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a pressured environment with competitive demands
