Job Description

Public Sector People (PSP) are currently looking to speak to a System Administrator who would be interested in a 3-month rolling contract within a Local Government organisation.   
  • January 2022 start date
  • Southeast Melbourne Location (WFH)
  • Contract until the end of April 2022
  • $50 an hour + super  
This role will take responsibility for the network support and corporate applications to ensure systems are available and uninterrupted with appropriate security in place.

Another key responsibility of this role is to work closely with the Network Administrator to contribute to the effective operation and cohesive integration between network, desktop and communications infrastructure.  

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for software installations, upgrades and technical problem resolution working closely with applications owners and software vendors.
  • Ongoing administration and optimisation of the SQL database.
  • Work closely with the IT Coordinator to plan and schedule the implementation, upgrading and maintenance of corporate and business applications.
  • Project manage network infrastructure projects as assigned and allocated.
  • Perform upgrades or other network related activities.
  • Ensure day to day smooth operation of Shoretel VoIP system and take responsibility for software installations, upgrades, and technical problem resolution.
  • Monitor the Service Desk system and proactively provide second level call resolution and to escalate any requests that cannot be resolved.
Requirements Include:

The following qualifications and/or experience are required for the position:
  • A relevant degree or diploma with relevant work experience.
  • Experience managing a complex SQL environment
  • Substantial experience in managing and upgrading corporate applications.
  • Detailed knowledge of networking and network protocols
  • Knowledge and experience managing Shoretel VoIP system
  • Strong customer experience skills, able to liaise with stakeholders and going above and beyond to resolve issues.
  • Must have a CURRENT police check and working with children check
