Public Sector People are currently recruiting a Sustainability Officer for a local council in Melbourne’s Western suburbs.

Working within the Strategy, Economy and Sustainability team, you will be working on developing and implanting highly impactful sustainability and climate change projects and policies.
  
The role will educate and engage the community to complement Council’s efforts and raise awareness of key environmental issues and opportunities. The position requires extensive project delivery expertise as well as the ability to think strategically, form strong networks, communicate complex information clearly, influence others and drive innovation.

This is a contract until March 2023.
  
Requirements:

• Tertiary degree in environmental science, environmental planning, environmental management, or related discipline.
• Demonstrated project management skills essential with experience in the delivery and design of environmental programs.
• Experience in the environmental management field, particularly applying strategic thinking to climate change adaptation and integrated water management.

• Contract through until March 2023 , likely to be extended.
• Hourly rate is negotiable dependent on experience.
