Job Description

About the role: 
The key function of this role is to work as a Survey Team Leader or a Survey Team Member and will be required to work alone at times.  This role is responsible in the carrying out of Engineering Design, Engineering Construction and Hydrographic Surveys as well as Real Property Cadastral Surveys under the supervision of Council's Registered Surveyor for all Council projects and for external clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver timely, accurate and detailed surveys for the design of projects to current industry best practice and the current Surveying and Spatial Information Regulation
  • Provide timely, accurate and precise surveys for the construction of projects to current industry best practice and the current Surveying and Spatial Information Regulation
  • Carry out surveys for Real Property Cadastral projects to current industry best practice and the current Surveying and Spatial Information Regulation in accordance with the Surveying and Spatial Information Act, Real Property Act, Conveyancing Act, Strata Titles Act and the Surveyor Generals and Registrar Generals Directions
  • Provide timely, accurate and precise surveys for Council Asset design and construction projects to current industry best practice and the current Surveying and Spatial Information Regulation
  • Conduct surveys for Survey Control on the NSW Survey co-ordination network to current industry best practice, the current Surveying and Spatial Information Regulation and the Surveyor Generals and Registrar Generals Directions
  • Ensure adherence to sound processes for capture and retention of information relating to survey, design and construction projects
  • Continuous process improvement initiatives incorporating the systematic review of policies, practices and procedures,
  • Ensure adherence to safe work practices, WHS requirements and Risk Management
  • Perform calibration of survey equipment and equipment standardisation
  • Supervision of Casual Survey Assistants
