Job Description

Public Sector People are currently seeking a Senior Open Space Planner for a central council with offices in the CBD. This is a three month contract covering a period of leave in one of the most prestigious councils in Melbourne.
  
The purpose of the position is to provide professional guidance and support on open space, parks and gardens policy and planning matters in the delivery of open space planning services to Council.
The Open Space Planner is responsible for policy development, strategic planning, delivery and long term management of the Council’s open space network.
  
This is a contract role and as such, the successful candidate needs to have had previous experience in a similar role.
  
Requirements include:
  • Extensive experience in open space planning, recreation planning and/or Crown land management at local government
  • Proven high level analytical and conceptual skills and demonstrated experience in solving complex problems relating to open space networks, parks and gardens or environmental management
  • Highly developed project management skills and demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects within timelines and budgets
