Job Description

Public Sector People (PSP) are currently looking to speak to Senior Finance Officers to join a Local Government on a temporary basis within Metro Melbourne from 17th June for 6 months initially.
  • Assistance with financial management of complex infrastructure/civil projects
  • Financial Reporting
  • Cost control
  • Management of budgets
POSITION OBJECTIVE
  • Provide expert advice on current, local and departmental finance policies and processes to project management staff, clients, contractors, creditors and suppliers
  • Provide leadership and expert advice in performing accounting, budgeting and reporting activities in corporate financial and other systems, as well as specialist project applications
  • Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports for management, the department, partner agencies, governance groups and other stakeholders
  • Take the lead in developing processes, procedures and guidelines that ensure purchase orders are created under correct financial delegation enabling correct payment of invoices
  • Manage the financial audit processes for the project
EXPERIENCE
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse financial data for trends and issues
  • Formulate innovative and strategic funding solutions
  • Demonstrated experience in government finance, and an excellent knowledge of the application of government accounting and financial legislation, policies and processes
