Public Sector People are currently inviting applications for the role of Safety and Wellbeing Team Leader to join a local council.
This position leads the Safety & Wellbeing Advisors and the Safety Management Project Lead and is accountable for the day to day operations of the team and implementing a sustainable business partnering model across Council.
Over the next 18 months this will include the implementation of an improved safety management framework and system as well as a change management program regarding safety culture.
Ensure that the framework review is completed on time and addresses the key finding of the external audit report and is efficient, effective and fit for purpose
Assist in the development of an annual wellbeing program and drive the effective rollout of the annual plan
Ensure safety and wellbeing related reporting is delivered on time and provides considered analysis of data
Ensure that incidents are investigated, closed out and communicated within set timeframes
Drive workplace health and safety management process across Council and provide expert advice to the organisation on all matters relating to workplace health, safety, well-being, risk assessments, and incidents, near miss and hazard reporting
Build capability of the Safety and Wellbeing advisors through coaching, mentoring and developing direct reports in order to achieve the required outcomes
Evaluation and continuous improvement of safety and wellbeing management systems through appropriate audit frameworks,
Support and develop the capabilities of relevant committees.
Lead and/or support the development of OHS policies and procedures to ensure they are up to date, relevant, disseminated across the organisation
